A daunting task, to say the least, taking on a subject so thoroughly covered over the years.  However, as any researcher, historian, and especially curious readers know... there's always something to be found, discussed or debated when it comes to history.  So, I took this on, hoping to do two things: write a short, sweet, fun and very readable overview of Luciano's role in pop culture and crime history.  Second, I was determined to uncover, or at the very least, find logical and alternative twists to the long debated or largely accepted theories.  Along the way of research and writing, I discovered some fascinating side stories related to Charlie's role in organized crime, which I thought would make wonderfully salaciously good inclusions to the book.  I hope above all else... this book inspires others to dig even further into the life and crimes of Charles "Lucky" Luciano and his many cohorts.

About the Author
Christian Cipollini has been a freelance writer and journalist in the realms of entertainment, human interest and true crime history for over a decade. A graduate of Seton Hill University, he holds a BA in Corporate Communications. He is the author of Diary of a Motor City Hit Man. As a contributor to diverse types of publications, his works have appeared in the Tribune-Review, Asylum.com, Urban Ink Magazine and Mob Candy magazine. About the Author

Raj Sekhar Basu is Reader, Department of History, University of Calcutta. Prior to his present appointment, he was Lecturer in the Department of History, Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. He has also been Visiting Scholar to the Department of History, Uppsala University; Centre for Historical Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University and Department of History, Osmania University.

Dr Basu has been awarded many fellowships including Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute Faculty Research Fellowships, Charles Wallace Travel Grants, Wellcome Trust Travel Grants and the Fulbright Seminar Grant, among others. 

He has published papers in various reputed journals such as the Indian Historical Review, Studies in History, Contemporary Perspectives in History and Sociology, Seminar, Gandhi Marg, Social Science Probings, Social Scientist and Calcutta Historical Journal.

He has also contributed chapters in volumes published by leading international publishers. He has edited a volume and a monograph on Dalit history.
